The winged king of horses, Pegasus was known for assisting Greek heroes on tasks of incredible bravery and skill. He was an essential figure in the rescue of Andromeda with Perseus from the Kraken. Pegasus was later brought to Mount Helicon by Bellerophon and with one kick of his hoof, he caused the spring of Hippocrene, a source of inspiration to poets, to flow. Bellerophon, who slayed the hideous beast Chimaera, became so headstrong that he ordered Pegasus to fly him up to Mount Olympus, the home of the gods. This impudence angered Zeus, who sent an insect to sting the winged horse, who bucked the rider off its back. As Bellerophon fell to Earth, Pegasus went on to greatness, as the "Thundering Horse of Jove" who carried lightning bolts for Zeus, and later as one of the most prominent constellations in the night sky. And so we find this alluring timepiece from Balmer, ready and willing to provide that perfect first impression. Made with an exclusive Swiss Leschot LM-196 super automatic caliber movement, a triad of subsidiary dials offers their own incredible insight into timekeeping.
